Cuba is going to lead currency reform
New Cuban leader Raul Castro has started discharge of duties of chairman of state council. First of all he will forward his forces and attention to the economy sector, which requires serious reforms. The new leader considers as one of the major problems the decision of problems of monetary system within the limits of which on Cuba, as a matter of fact, relies in two currencies.
Alongside with usual peso, so-called convertible or foreign currency is being used in the country. Cuban peso (quoted at the rate $1, 08) is used by foreign tourists and is accepted in the shops, where it is possible to buy qualitative products, clothes and the household goods. The usual peso is used by local population and exchanges at the rate of 24 national pesos for one convertible peso.
After Raul Castro has mentioned necessity to enter uniform currency, having thus hinted on possible increase of a rate of national peso twice, ordinary Cubans have rushed to exchange offices. On Monday and Tuesday in the center of Havana huge queues of people, wishing to get off hands convertible peso and to exchange them on usual, was standing near the banks.
Authorities even had to calm citizens: the state radio and TV called people not to not hurry up, and state council has officially declared that currency reform will be gradually spent.

Monument to gays in Berlin
The monument has been designed by Norwegian-Danish artist-duo and it will remind of the tens of thousands of homosexuals, who were killed by Hitler’s regime.
The decision on construction of a monument was accepted the Bundestag several years ago under the initiative of public figures of Germany. The government has allocated 450 thousand euro for these purposes. Since then the jury under direction of minister of culture of Germany was engaged in consideration of memorial’s projects.
The form of memorial will represent a concrete cube. A window, in which it is planned to show serially two video projections, will be cut out in it: the first episode will represent a kissing men and the second one - lesbian couple. Authors of the project emphasize, that during with 1933 for 1945 lesbians were also exposed to persecutions.
Let’s remind, in 2009 in Berlin the first hotel for gays of Spanish hotel group Axel Hotels will be opened.

The most ancient on the continent palace has been found in Peru
It is a really valuable find of the Peruvian archeologists! Scientists from Germany have found out, probably, oldest building of the South-American continent. It is a huge palace, which age totals more than 5 thousand years. It is the coeval of the Egyptian pyramids.
Construction is extraordinary spacious. It settles down to the north from the Peruvian capital Lima. The Project head has expressed, that excavation of a palace, built in 3500 year B.C., more than convincingly prove, that the world civilization simultaneously developed both in the Old World, and in America.

Cyprus wishes to attract tourists in summer and in winter
Cyprus continues to undertake efforts to be all-the-year-round direction for tourists. In order to increase the number of tourists during winter time, Cyprian organization on tourism (CAT) has developed the program, realization of which will require almost 30 million euro within three years.
In particular, the CAT will participate in advertising actions, organized by foreign tourist operators, and it will also continue own campaign on promotion of island as all-the-year-round tourist direction. The organization plans to take part in all tourist exhibitions abroad. Besides, the CAT is going to offer airlines to enter more flights to Cyprus in winter months.
In experts’ opinion, seasonal prevalence is one of the main painful points of Cyprian tourism. Even in Pathos, traditionally mass winter tourist place, the number of tourists has considerably decreased in the winter of 2007-2008 - so, that some hotels had to be closed prior to the summer season.

New Hungarian resort hotel will offer wine therapy and wine tourism
In March in the Hungarian city of Tartsal located in northeast of the country, the wine resort hotel will be opened. Four-star Andrassy Kuria Hotel Wine&Spa with 42 room-numbers, incorporated with wine factory Andrassy, is located in the centre of the city. The hotel has its own wine storage and a hall for wine tasting with distillery. The vineyard will give opportunities for any kinds of wine tourism both for professionals, and for amateurs: visiting wine cellars, wine tasting, vintage, excursion on wine producing factory and reception of the information on process of winemaking.
The wellness-center of the hotel will offer lodgers unique wine therapy procedures with application of cosmetic preparations on the basis of extracts of grapes and germs of wheat grains. Visitors can have a rest and relax in the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and the fanned special atmosphere to underground swimming bath.

Exhibition of sex has opened in Mexico
Six-day exhibition Expo Sexo y Entretenimiento has opened in capital of Mexico. Action passes in the Palace of sports of Mexico and occupies the area in 25 thousand square meters. Exhibition organizers assure that it will not promote distribution of prostitution and will not offend public morals.
The organizers of exhibition have noted that the film-industry in the country is facing a lot of problems now, first of all, because of a piracy and the Internet. It has been also informed, that business was more focused on manufacture of erotic toys and growth of the “adult content” offer through the Internet with payment by credit cards.
Alongside with sale of the goods connected with sex and entertainments for adults, at an exhibition the well-known quarter of red lanterns in Amsterdam has been recreated. Also at an exhibition there is a place under the name of the Banana Bar, in which it was possible to observe erotic show with water and soap.
It was the first time that at an exhibition the zone intended only for women, in which entrance to be forbidden, had been organized. Special show for ladies was shown there.
It is expected, that more than 105 thousand person will visit this exhibition.

Season of straw wine manufacture has begun in Czech Republic
In spite of the fact that even it is still February now, many wine makers of Moravian region should work. They do straw wine In the middle of winter - one of the most expensive wines, made in Czech. Grapes lay on straw for four long months. For this time it has finally dried up and now only the best - glucose- is kept in only the best - glucose. The majority of wines are made of mash which has the maintenance of sugar up to 20 %. Straw wine is really unique - the mash should contain at least 27 % of sugar, and often it reaches 40 %. Therefore nobody wonders, that 300-gram bottle costs more than thousand crones. According to wine makers, it is better approaches to snacks, sweet desserts and ice-cream.

Saudi enamored are forbidden to give roses
As local newspaper Saudi Gazette informs, police of Saudi Arabia has forbidden trade in red roses and other goods, which are often given on the eve of the Valentine’s Day. Observers of the Islamic order in this country officially ordered to withdraw from sale of flowers and gift packing.
According to the newspaper, the prices for roses in “the black market” have already jumped up. Authorities consider that celebration of the Valentine’s Day and other not Muslim holidays is a sin.
St. Valentine’s day, the day, when in many countries enamored give each other gifts, is considered as additional occasion for illegitimate attitudes, that is regarded as immorality in Saudi Arabia.
As Saudi Gazette writes, some Saudi people have placed orders in flower shops for many days and even weeks till holiday in order to be out of suspicions.
The secret flower deliverer says that sometimes they deliver bouquets in the middle of night or early in the morning if only not to get under suspicion.
Others enamored arrange appointments in more liberal neighboring countries: Bahrain or the United Arabian Emirates.

Transport system of China is restored after snowfalls
Agency Sinhua, referring to the ministry of public safety of China, informs that transport system of the central, east and southern China, paralyzed because of strong snowfalls, is basically restored, and movement on high-speed highways, except for separate areas, is normalized.
The strongest for last 50 years snowfalls in 19 provinces of the Peoples Republic of China has seriously complicated movement of all types of transport. Almost 80 people suffered from the weather anomaly. The bad weather has led to hold-ups of power supply and heat, to losses in rural and forestry, accidents in thousand shabby constructions. The economic damage has made about 80 billion yuans (more than 11 billion dollars).
The revelry of the elements, which have been concurrent with mass crossings of people during the Holiday of Spring - the Chinese New Year on a lunar calendar, has not allowed many inhabitants of China to reach native places and to visit their relatives.
The peak of mass moving of people across the country has begun since Sunday. About 200 million of transit workers will come back to cities.
As a whole, Chinese mass-media inform that today all transport systems worked normally.
