Quantity of ticks has sharply increased In Slovakia



The quantity of ticks has sharply increased in Slovakia. The last winter was extraordinary warm for a local climate. As epidemiologists have informed, in the result of it, perfect conditions for duplication of insects-messengers of dangerous illnesses have been created.
This year there is lot of parasites, transferring, in particular, encephalitis. Ticks have also much appeared in Bratislava’s forest parks. The significant amount of harmful insects is fixed on city lawns and in cottage areas gardens. Veterinaries mark sharp increase in references of citizens in occasion of stings ticks of pets.
Physicians mark the increase in a zone of ticks’ distribution. Insects, which were earlier observed only in lowlands and foothills of the Czech and Slovak mountains, have appeared at height over 1000 meters above sea level.
More than 100 thousand of Czechs and Slovaks are infected or have suffered the diseases, received in result of ticks. Each year approximately 150 people get infected with vernal encephalitis.
As it is known, vernal encephalitis provokes the development of nervous breakdowns and a paralysis of hands at each tenth patient. It can be shown in the form of a simple flu, but heat, headaches and loss of consciousness appear in two-rub weeks.
