Chinese hotels will rise in price
In connection with the official beginning of tickets sale for Olympiad in Peking the experts tourist firms have been offered to predict the demand for this event. As it was found out, the clients have not shown special interest to Olympic China yet.
However, now the operators have no ready programs as they expect offers from the Chinese partners. Those, in turn, have not defined with the prices for summer 2008 yet. According to some information, the average cost of accommodation during Olympiad can grow five times. This means that the hotels, which now cost $50 per day, may increase the price up to $250-300. It is very high rod for China, and such rise in prices can stop sales. Also there is no clearness in occasion of transportation. So, whether charter flights will be allowed in Peking is under the question.
In general, concerning forthcoming Olympiad, the participants of the tourist market regard forecasts extremely cautiously, recollecting a pitiable situation with sales of Olympic Games in Athens and Atlanta. It is not excluded, as this time all will pass under the same script - an artificial agiotage, that unjustified overestimate of the prices may cause absence of adequate demand. For example a week at three star hotel during the Olympiad, including some tickets for not on the most prestigious competitions, without the additional options, will cost $1500-1700. Besides that now it is possible to find high-grade excursion tours in cost less than $900. And the price of ten-day trip with tickets for opening ceremony or closings will start with 5-6 thousand US dollars.
