Switzerland has joined Schengen zone

Switzerland since Friday, on December, 12th, has joined Schengen zone and became 25-th country - the participant of visa-free moving agreement. Swiss government has decided to join Schengen zone three years ago on a national referendum, at which homosexual marriages and Dublin agreement also have been approved, concerning struggle against criminality and illegal immigration.
In November, 2008, the question on joining Schengen agreement has been approved by the incorporated committee of EU Ministerial council of justice and internal affairs.
From the moment of joining Schengen zone people, wishing to cross ground border of the country with the countries of the Schengen zone, will not have to pass the additional ground control. Passport control will be kept only at the airports up to the end of March, 2009, until airlines will not pass to summer schedule.
Let’s remind, that in 2010 Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania should join Schengen agreement.
