Transport system of China is restored after snowfalls
Agency Sinhua, referring to the ministry of public safety of China, informs that transport system of the central, east and southern China, paralyzed because of strong snowfalls, is basically restored, and movement on high-speed highways, except for separate areas, is normalized.
The strongest for last 50 years snowfalls in 19 provinces of the Peoples Republic of China has seriously complicated movement of all types of transport. Almost 80 people suffered from the weather anomaly. The bad weather has led to hold-ups of power supply and heat, to losses in rural and forestry, accidents in thousand shabby constructions. The economic damage has made about 80 billion yuans (more than 11 billion dollars).
The revelry of the elements, which have been concurrent with mass crossings of people during the Holiday of Spring - the Chinese New Year on a lunar calendar, has not allowed many inhabitants of China to reach native places and to visit their relatives.
The peak of mass moving of people across the country has begun since Sunday. About 200 million of transit workers will come back to cities.
As a whole, Chinese mass-media inform that today all transport systems worked normally.
