New superfast train in France
French company Alstorm has presented the new train AGV, capable to get the speed up to 360 kilometers per hour. On novelty of technical decisions and importance of a novelty for railway branch AGV may be compared to well-known airbus A380.
AGV is calculated on overcoming of distance in one thousand kilometers for three hours per real operation on lines. Alstom Executive director has named this achievement “the new stage in a competition to airlines”.
AGV has no division into pulling all structure locomotive and carriages without engines. Instead of it electro motors AGV are in regular intervals distributed along all train. They are under each car and in wheel carriages.Â
All this has allowed increasing the space, given to passengers, on 20%. Except for that AGV spends on 30 % less electric power, than TGV, which became habitual train for France. Depending on interiors design and the general length of structure AGV can have to accept from 250 up to 650 passengers. On tests in April, 2007, engines and elements of running part AGV have dispersed train TGV up to 574 kilometers per hour and usual TGV speed makes only 320 kilometers per hour.
25 AGV trains are already ordered by Italian railway company Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori and will be introduced in Italy in 2011.
