Snowfall has stopped the transport in Tokyo

The strong snowfall - the first in a winter season of 2007-2008 - has paralyzed work of Tokyo airport Narita.
According to representatives of airport administration, more than 50 international flights, even more 90 have been postponed for uncertain term have been cancelled because of the snowfall which has begun on Saturday. In Narita more than 10 thousand passengers are still waiting for their flights. Airport services have not time to clear runways of snow in due time.
At Tokyo airport Haneda, serving internal airlines, more than 100 flights have been cancelled. About 14 thousand person during have not got on destination.
According to Meteorological agency of Japan, this snowfall has already become the strongest one for last eight years. On Sunday morning, intensity of snowfall has decreased, however, weather forecasters predict, that the snowfall will not stop within the nearest days.
For Tokyo, located on coast of Pacific Ocean, it is considered that meteorological norm should not exceed more than two-three snowfalls per season.
