7 thousand passengers have got stuck at the airports
7 thousand passenger flights of SpanAir airline could not depart from the Spanish airports for last day. Such incident is connected with strike of the independent trade union Sitcpla, which is uniting pilots of passenger airlines. In general 75 flights have been cancelled.
In general, canceling of 75 international flights has not affected flights to Spain and back. Today everything goes in a normal mode and passengers’ plans are not broken.
Spanair’s employees require changes of working conditions. In particular, they do not accept duration of the working day, too low salary and shortage of the personnel. The representative of strike committee of trade union has told that, if requirements of their trade union will not be satisfied, they will lead some 24-hour strikes in July. In the meantime, the passengers have been already offered to hand over the bought tickets in cash department and to take advantage of other companies’ flights.
Spanair is the second airline of Spain on passenger turnover after company “Iberia” and it is headed by Swedish company SAS.
