Famous liner Queen Elizabeth II will be transformed into magnificent hotel



Well-known liner Queen Elizabeth II lives the last days as a sea vessel. However legendary liner will not die at all, and on the contrary, it will find a new life. The liner will be turned out into a place of pilgrimage of tourists. It will become magnificent hotel with chains of the best boutiques and even a museum. It is known, that the ship will be moored to artificial Palm Island in Jumeirah in the United Arab Emirates in 2009.
Let’s remind, that cruise liner Queen Elizabeth II, which is 290 m in length and 35 m in width, has been constructed at John Brown’s shipyard in Scotland. The vessel can transport 1778 passengers, not including 1000 persons of crew.
40 years ago in September, 1967 this ship has been christened by name of British queen Elizabeth II and was floated. Since then QE2, the oldest child of ship company Cunard Line, has crossed Atlantic Ocean 800 times and has made 25 round-the-world travels. Now the British company has sold the liner for 75 million euro (100 million dollars) companies Dubai World, which is going to present the ship the second life.
Queen Elizabeth II will be situated in the harbor of artificial the erected archipelago of Palm islands in the Incorporated Arab Emirates. The vessel in weight 70 thousand tons will cease to function as the liner in November, 2008. According to some information, its present proprietor - Dubai World - is going to alter the ship from within in comfortable hotel with entertainments and shops, and to leave a place for a museum, in which the history of the well-known ship will be recreated.
