Czech Republic is named the leader of the European tourism
Indisputable leadership in entrance tourism between 12 new EU countries-members belongs to the Czech Republic. In all European Union Czech Republic occupies 11th position. In 2006 almost 6,4 million foreign tourists have visited Czech Republic.
Prague occupies 6th position on attendance among other European cities. However, according to Association of the Czech travel companies and agencies, Czech Republic lags behind the leading tourist countries.
According to recently lead research of German company German Traveller Analysis, 42 % of tourists would prefer accommodation in ecologically pure areas, 46 % want that the place, where they would spend their holidays, actively promoted preservation of the environment and 60 % of tourists consider dump on the nature as ecological problem.
In 2006 the number of tourists, coming to Czech Republic, has increased on 1,6 %.
