The hotel first in Turkey intended only for gays and lesbians, will open in July on one of popular resorts of the Mediterranean on what its manager has recently informed.
In his telephone interview to the edition “Middle East Time” Faruk Ok has declared that in Turkey there are a few hotels, which are in friendly way concerning gays and lesbians, but their hotel will become the first, which is on 100 percent intended for the gay-community. Their hotel will not receive visitors who are not the representatives of sexual minorities - gays and lesbians gays and lesbians.
The four-star hotel “Planet Victorya” is located in Kemer and offers 70 room-numbers. Kemer - is a popular resort at the sea side, where the set of hotels, housing estates and entertaining cents for tourists are concentrated. According to the manager of the hotel, no bureaucratic obstacles and barriers are to be on the way of their clients.
Inquiries from tourists-homosexuals have been received. Basically these are the clients from Belgium, France, Holland and Spain - the countries, where unisex marriages or civil partnership are legalized - however, Turkish gays are interested in the rest in this hotel.
In Turkey strong radical moods against homosexuality has been present for a long time, but here homosexuality is not considered here as a criminal crime as in other Muslim countries. As the newspaper approves, there are many gays among Turkish stars of show business and other celebrities.
In this connection the edition reminds, that the gay-movement began to type in Turkey after the country has declared aspiration to enter the European Union. This international structure puts pressure upon Ankara so that human rights, including representatives of sex-minority were observed in the country.
