Miss Camel will be chosen in Saudi Arabia
In this competition of beauty, which is being held in Saudi Arabia, applicants should correspond to the parameters accepted all over the world, with one distinction. Its participants - are the camels.
This week the tribe of nomads Qahtani in Saudi Arabia has accepted participants of “the most beautiful camels” parade in deserted area Guwei’iyya, which is in 120 kilometers from Riyadh. The organizer of competition said, that the Lebanese have Miss Lebanon, and in Saudi Arabians- Miss Camel.
While (owing to oil) the country is quickly modernized, the camel remains a symbol of a traditional nomadic way of Beduins tribes’ life. During all history camels provided nomads with food, served as fighting machines and were friends to the Arabian conquerors.
In Saudi Arabia, where Islamic laws and breeding traditions are strictly observed, women are deprived from the opportunity to participate in beauty competitions. The Importance of this competition is that it helps to save thoroughbred animals. As it has become known, more than 250 owners and more than 1500 camels will participate in theses competitions.
