Since The Olympiad-1996, in Atlanta, the USA, meteorologists of the country-organizer of Games have already started to invite the colleagues from other countries to use the best technological development in meteorological maintenance of sports meets. during 2-3 months prior to the beginning of Olympic Games they started to put into operation new observant stations, radars, supercomputers, as during the last Olympic Games the new computer technologies allowing with high spatial and time step-type behavior to define a condition of an atmosphere, new techniques of drawing up of forecasts for different terms were used and the special attention was given super short-term forecasts. One of the important directions of activity was the development of new forms of the meteorological information representation. And all this was done in view of specificity of competitions in different kinds of sports competitions - track and field athletics, tennis, game competitions, and especial attention was paid to the maintenance of regattas.
The traditions incorporated in Atlanta, have found further development at the organization of Olympiads in Sydney (2000) and Athens (2004). Chinese meteorologists are very seriously preparing for the Olympiad-2008. They have created the new Center on meteorological observation of Olympic Games in Peking. Necessary equipment and financial means for this purpose have been allocated by other cities which will participate in the organization of Games. China has already established new radars and has introduced some meteorological satellites. Now Chinese meteorologists are   actively modernizing computer and Internet technologies.
